Basic tracks recorded at Blank Tapes, NY. Final overdubbing and mixing at Compass Point Studios and Sigma Sound, NY. Originally Mastered at Sterling Sound, NY. Limited edition of 50,000. Clear vinyl. The packaging, designed by Robert Rauschenberg, is a transparent plastic case with artwork and credits printed on 3 12" circular transparent collages, one per primary color. Most copies originally came sealed with a round transparent sticker affixed on the sealing material, on the front at the top right hand corner : Special Limited Edition Talking Heads Speaking in Tongues 1-23771 $ 12.98 H Concept by Robert Rauschenberg Some copies imported to Canada had a different, white rectangular sticker : Imported For Distribution In Canada By / Importées Et Pour Distribution Au Canada Par WEA Music Of Canada Ltd. 1810 Birchmount R. Scarborough Ontario M1P2J1 The full-color source material at the bottom of the images page came from a blog post by David Byrne about the project that can be found here.
