For sale is a fully restored Pilot 240 stereo integrated tube amp. This little beauty puts out a healthy 15WPC into 4, 8 or 16 Ohms. But don't let the humble power rating fool you - these little Pilot amps dam get PLENTY loud and maintain great bass response. And of course it has the classic Pilot gold on gold color theme and even comes with the relatively rare metal cover!
Electronically, the entire amplifier was gone over top to bottom. First the power supply is rebuilt with all fresh electrolytic caps and replacing any worn out power resistors etc. All mains wiring was carefully checked over and a thermistor was added to not only slow start the amp but to knock down the wall voltage a bit. Then all known to fail preamp capacitor types were replaced and all solder joints were carefully checked over. Lastly all tube sockets were tensioned and cleaned.
These are wonderful sounding vintage integrated amps with huge bass for the size and crystal clear highs, smooth mids and versatile, usable tone controls. The phono stage is fantastic as well with just a minimal hum (as low as we could get it with the AC heater design they used). Overall it's a great sounding little amp that is a ton of fun to use and easy to look at
