The Acoustic Research AR-2ax was a three-way loudspeaker featuring a 10-inch foam-surround woofer, a 3 1/2-inch cone midrange, and a 3/4-inch dome tweeter. It had crossover frequencies of 1400 Hz and 5000 Hz and was introduced in 1970 as a "new" version replacing an earlier 2ax model. The speaker featured a new 3a-style brass logo with red de-bossed lettering, and its enclosure dimensions are approximately 19" x 10" x 9".
