The Story

The Accustic Arts Drive 1 is a CD transport with a high-end tray loading CD drive mechanism. It has a damped drawer made of aluminum-ABS-compound guided with two metal bearings. The Drive 1 also has a heightened presence lock with vocals, more percussive incisiveness with transients, and better visibility into the micro-data domain of recorded acoustics.

  • The Drive 1 makes much of the competition sound mechanical, and mirrors the organic quality people like in vinyl.
  • Voices and instruments are richly textured, which adds considerably to the sense of believability.
  • The power indicator remains lit in both play and standby modes and is extinguished only when the rear-panel mains switch is deactivated.
  • The Level 1 upgrade eliminates the over the top leading edge of the upper mids and treble. Bass extends deeper and mid range becomes more fluid.
